AFGE Dispatches Team to Houston to Help TSOs Affected by Ike

As much of Houston remains virtually unlivable, in the wake of Hurricane Ike, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) voiced concern about Transportation Security Officers at the City’s two major airports (George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby) who were reportedly told to go to work or face disciplinary actions.

As the only union to represent TSA employees since the agency's inception, AFGE is widely recognized as THE TSA union.

With multiple full-time TSA-dedicated attorneys on staff, AFGE is the only union to offer to its members FREE legal assistance. AFGE has taken on--and beaten--TSA in the courts, before the International Labor Organization and with the Federal Labor Relations Authority over issues including collective bargaining rights, fair personnel systems, merit-based pay and promotion policies, and regular and reasonable work schedules.

AFGE has members in airports across the United States and in Puerto Rico. See where your closest local is located.
